My Approach
The main goal was to completely rebuild the app's look and feel. We changed the old, dated interface to a new, clean, light design. My job was to design the user experience and visual layout for the app, making sure five big new features worked smoothly together, creating an easy-to-use tool for content creators
Vision and Innovation
Goal – The goal was to turn Post Kraken into a top-tier tool for team collaboration.
Innovation – The big innovation was designing simple ways to use complex new features: AI Captioning, Team Chat, Calendar, Admin Controls, and Activity Tracking.
Final Design – The final design is clean and professional, using a light theme with clear colors to help users focus.
Identifying Unique Challenges
Challenge – The main problem was fitting many new, powerful features into a small phone screen without making it confusing.
Resolution – We fixed this by giving each major feature its own clear, dedicated space, like a main Calendar screen or a simple AI Caption button inside the posting tool.
Resolving Complex Problems
Problem – The trickiest job was making it easy to manage team roles (admin rights) and see who did what (activity tracking) on the app.
Solution – We solved this by putting all team controls in one simple area, the Manage Team section. A clean Activity Feed was designed to turn complicated team data into a simple list you can quickly check on the main screen.
Meeting User Needs
The new design directly met user requests and needs:
Clarity – The clean light theme made checking and managing detailed data much easier.
Speed – Adding the AI Captioning feature gave creators a quick way to write posts.
Teamwork – Team Chat and better Admin Controls gave teams the tools they needed to work together smoothly.
Detailed Pages and Features
New Feature Architecture – I designed the screens and flows for AI Captioning, the Calendar View, and the Team Chat function.
Permissions Design – Created the controls for setting Adminship and showing the Team Member Activity.
Admin/Permissions Flow – New modal designs and control menus for delegating and revoking admin privileges to team members.
Core Overhaul – The Sign-Up and Post Creation screens were fully modernized to match the new professional look.
Conclusion
The Post Kraken redesign successfully updated the app's look, fixed old usability issues, and provided the necessary design blueprint for major new features. The result is a highly professional and scalable tool ready for development.
