This was a responsive website redesign for Eternal Aid, a UK-based non-profit focused on charity and aid projects. The goal was to update the site's look and functionality to be more trustworthy, emotionally engaging, and highly effective at driving quick donations across all devices.

My Approach

The main goal of the redesign was to switch the focus from a basic informational site to one that inspired immediate trust and quick action. The approach centered on using genuine, impactful photography and clear financial transparency, while ensuring the entire site was fully responsive and easy to use on any screen.

Vision and Innovation

  • Vision – The vision was to replace the outdated design with a digital space that felt warm, hopeful, and trustworthy.

  • Innovation – Innovation involved placing a Quick Donation widget prominently on the hero section for fast conversions, designing it to be perfectly functional on a mobile screen.

  • Final Design – The clean aesthetic uses a white background and light green accents to convey growth and hope.

Identifying Unique Challenges

  • Challenge – The challenge was organizing the existing large volume of project imagery and content clearly on both desktop and small mobile screens.

  • Resolution – This was solved by using a responsive grid system for project galleries and separating content into two distinct sections: an Image Gallery and detailed Project Cards.

Resolving Complex Problems

  • Problem – The main problem was building immediate donor confidence and ensuring the financial message was clear.

  • Solution – This was resolved by immediately featuring the statement, "We Help With 100% of Your Donation," and using visual progress icons high on the page to quantify the organization's efforts.

User-Centric Design

  • The design prioritizes the core user action: donating. The form is simple and front-and-center, even on a phone.

  • The structure immediately answers key donor questions like Where does my money go? and What do you do?

  • The aesthetic uses positive, impactful photos to build a necessary emotional connection with the mission.

Meeting User Needs

  • Simplicity – The Quick Donation form allows for fast giving on any device.

  • Trust – Prominent display of Donor & Supporter logos provides social proof and credibility.

  • Accessibility – The fully responsive design ensures users can donate and browse easily, regardless of their screen size.

Detailed Pages and Features

  • Quick Donation Widget – A simple, responsive form under the main banner.

  • Impact Statement – Clear section detailing the "100%" guarantee.

  • Progress Indicators – Simple icons visually representing the areas of aid.

  • Project Galleries – Sections showcasing general imagery and specific project types.

Conclusion

The Eternal Aid redesign successfully modernized the site, solving critical usability issues and establishing financial transparency. It delivered a fully responsive, trustworthy platform that effectively converts visitors into donors through simplicity and a clear focus on tangible impact.
